Do your diapers use organic cotton?Updated a year ago
We don’t use organic cotton because we can’t purchase large enough quantities from the U.S. and we don’t want to source our cotton from Asia where the practices, regulations, and classifications of organic cotton are widely known to be unreliable.
Instead, we focus on using the safest, most sustainable non-organic cotton possible sourced entirely from U.S farmers. Our cotton is chlorine-free and cleaned with a breakthrough process that involves zero chemicals, water, or process heat. You can learn more about our cotton here.
Additionally, there is always the question if organic cotton farming in the U.S. is more sustainable. Organic cotton yields 1/7 as much as conventional cotton. This means you need 7X the water, 7X the land, 7X the irrigation, etc. to get the same amount of cotton.
Our diapers are fully OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified. This certification is the gold standard in safety for textile products. It means our diaper is free of 100+ of the most harmful chemicals. You can learn more about this here.
